On behalf of the OT Cyber Coalition, we write to express our strong support for the appointment of Andrew McClure as Director of the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) at the U.S. Department of Energy. The OT Cyber Coalition is dedicated to securing the operational technology and industrial control systems that underpin U.S. critical infrastructure, and we believe Director McClure is well suited to lead CESER at this moment.
Director McClure brings a results-focused approach to CESER, one that holds programs accountable to real-world impact and prioritizes practical progress over process. The energy sector faces a serious and growing threat. Securing the ICS and OT systems that power American homes, businesses, and military installations requires sustained investment, strong industry partnership, and leadership willing to hold programs to account. Director McClure brings that approach to CESER.
We urge the Committees to engage actively with CESER under Director McClure's leadership and to provide the resources needed to execute on his priorities. The OT Cyber Coalition looks forward to supporting that work.
